Random is an experience design studio based in Amsterdam and Paris.

Our work comes to life in the Interactive Space, a new domain, where the digital and the physical are fluid. We use technology in a human, tangible way and so invite people to connect to each other and the space they are in.

We are looking for a Creative Team Lead.

Mentor:The main goal for this role is to grow our creative team, not necessarily in size, but in quality. We have a very strong, ambitious team that is keen to learn and improve. You will be their mentor, you will listen, inspire, guide on projects and further grow individual members and the culture of the team as a whole.

Communication:

You are involved in all first client and other key conversations

You will have an important say in how the company communicates internally and externally.

You help to enhance the synergy between both our offices

Projects:

Oversee all the projects and project teams from a mentor level, so you are not involved into every single detail of projects, your focus is on the people.

You are responsible for forming the right teams per project (in collaboration with the leads)

You can read the client and the project and shape the project accordingly

You will be responsible for quality control.

R&D
We are exploring the domain of living spaces. How can a space have a behaviour, how can it be in dialogue with people. How can spaces relate and inform each other. You will help to create concepts that will help us to answer these questions and make them tangible for the outside world.

Qualities we are looking for:

You are kind and have a creative mind, you can invite the team and our clients to play, to make new things, to explore different angles, disciplines, perspectives.

You have a long history 10 yrs + in a related business in a creative managerial function. (Architecture, Art, experience design, Set design) We would be looking for someone with a (tech) spatial background. So an architect, or an artist that has experience in spatial design. But we are open to other disciplines as well. Your authority is based on the qualities that you bring as a creative and as a human being

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing our creative team (Our creative DTP in AMS consists out of around 10-15 people from all kinds of disciplines.) You are asked to:

Further nurture the culture as a whole, inspire the team

Nurture and grow the team as individuals, define career paths, give feedback, help where needed

Wieden our freelance network and talent pool in general

You will also work closely with our Paris team which is led by our Creative director in Paris.

You have an important say and input on new business, but are not responsible

You have an important say and input on shaping the direction of the studio but are not responsible. With this we mean that we are actively working on our own initiatives to show existing and potential clients where we want to go as a studio.
